Microdermabrasion uses a jet spray of mineral crystals to remove, and then vacuum, the outer keratin layer of the skin. Regular removal of the keratin layer can improve the appearance of fine acne scars and wrinkles. The effect of medical grade exfoliation is skin that is brighter and smoother. These treatments stimulate the skin to regenerate skin cells more quickly and promote new collagen deposition. A variety of gentle and effective exfoliating skin peels are offered to progress your skin care program to faster and more effective levels.

GLYCOLIC PEELS

Glycolic acid is the most potent of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) and can penetrate deeply into the outer skin layers. A gentle exfoliation takes place over the next few days leaving smoother and more radiant skin. The treatments encourage improved pigmentation distribution that lightens dark spots. Breaking down the dead skin layer can also accelerate the penetration and effectiveness of skin care products.

LACTIC PEELS

Lactic acid is a larger molecule and therefore does not penetrate skin as easily as glycolic acid. However, this is a very effective but conservative exfoliation for clients needing less correction or having more sensitive skin.

SALICYLIC PEELS

For our clients wanting faster and more aggressive results without significant downtime, our Biophora Salicylic Acid peel is very popular. In addition to exfoliation, salicylic acid is oil soluble and antibacterial. This can really be helpful for acne sufferers.

The results of each of these different chemical peels are improved exfoliation, stimulated new skin cell growth and turnover with enhanced penetration of topical products. Consequently you will see smoother, softer and unblemished skin more quickly.
